Sowing and germination

Before sowing, coffee seeds are soaked for a day in warm water with the addition of stimulants. The planting substrate needs to be loose, water- and breathable: you can take steamed turf soil, mix it with sand and sifted peat in a ratio (1:2:2), or use soil based on a coconut substrate and with the addition of perlite, vermiculite and river sand in a ratio (7:1:1:1). It is recommended to place coffee seeds in a pot, flat side down, at a distance of 3 cm from each other. Having pressed the seeds into the soil to a depth of 1 cm, water the substrate with a pink solution of potassium permanganate and cover the crops with glass. Seed germination occurs at a temperature of 21-23 ̊C, seedlings appear in 1-1.5 months. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops. The seedlings need ventilation.
