Sowing and germination

Orbea seeds are flat, brown, with a large tuft of silvery-white down, ripen in paired horned leaflets. Before sowing, the tufts must be removed, and the seeds themselves are disinfected by briefly soaking them in a weak solution of potassium permanganate. Scarification and stratification are not required. The seeding substrate, made of peat and coarse sand in equal parts, is thoroughly steamed before sowing. The seeds are laid out on the surface, without embedding, moistened from a spray bottle with a solution of a growth stimulator: SUPERthrive, HB-101, Aminozol, Epin or Zircon, covered with glass or placed in a greenhouse and kept in a bright place at a temperature of 22-26°C. Under favorable conditions, the first shoots appear within 2-3 weeks, the main germination lasts for 1-3 months and significantly depends on the freshness of the seeds, and individual seeds may linger longer. Crops are regularly ventilated.
