Sowing and germination
Bassia seeds are small, flat, dark, and ripen in the axils of the leaves. It is impractical to soak such small seeds, so the substrate itself is disinfected: before sowing, it is spilled with a weak solution of potassium permanganate and dried. Scarification and stratification are not required. Seeds are sown for seedlings in March or April, in open ground - in May. They are sealed minimally, only lightly pressing them to the surface. The crops are moistened from a spray bottle with a solution of a growth stimulator: balanced plant vitamin supplement, natural plant growth stimulant, amino-acid plant fertilizer, anti-stress adaptogen solution or root development stimulant, covered with a film or placed in a greenhouse and germinated in the light at a temperature of 18-20°C. Under favorable conditions, the first shoots appear within 10 days, the main germination is completed in 10-15 days, and individual seeds may linger longer.
