Sowing and germination

For seed propagation, it is necessary to carry out preliminary scarification: soak in hot water for two days, damage the shell with a sharp object. Germination is carried out in a damp cloth at a temperature of about 35º (on a battery in containers with a lid for a month). You can plant the prepared seeds in a separate container filled with peat with added sand. Sometimes there is almost no planting depth (you can slightly deepen the seeds with your finger). The soil is kept slightly moist. Shoots appear in 15-20 days. When germinating seeds in the autumn-winter period, the first shoots appear much later and subject to additional lighting. After the sprout appears, a simple green column with two leaves and a strong root system, it is transferred to a permanent place, while the thickness of the soil above it should be about 3 cm so that the sprout does not dry out. Seedlings grow quickly at a young age.
