Sowing and germination

The seeds of Gymnocalycium are large for cacti, black, with a tuberculate surface characteristic of the genus, and ripen into oblong fruits. It is not advisable to soak them, so the substrate itself is disinfected: before sowing, it is spilled with a weak solution of potassium permanganate and dried. Scarification and stratification are not required. Sowing is carried out on the surface of a moist substrate with an acidity of about pH 6.5, without embedding. The crops are moistened from a spray bottle with a solution of a seed-safe growth stimulant according to its label directions, seed-safe growth stimulant, seed-safe growth stimulant, seed-safe growth stimulant or seed-safe growth stimulant, covered with a lid or placed in a greenhouse and germinated at a temperature of 22-26°C with regular ventilation. Under favorable conditions, the first shoots appear within 7 days, the main germination is completed in 7-15 days, and individual seeds can linger for up to 25 days or longer.
