Sowing and germination

The seeds of Gymnocalycium are large for cacti, black, with a tuberculate surface characteristic of the genus, and ripen into oblong fruits. It is not advisable to soak them, so the substrate itself is disinfected: before sowing, it is spilled with a weak solution of potassium permanganate and dried. Scarification and stratification are not required. Sowing is carried out on the surface of a moist substrate with an acidity of about pH 6.5, without embedding. The crops are moistened from a spray bottle with a solution of a growth stimulator: balanced plant vitamin supplement, natural plant growth stimulant, amino-acid plant fertilizer, anti-stress adaptogen solution or root development stimulant, covered with a lid or placed in a greenhouse and germinated at a temperature of 22-26°C with regular ventilation.
