Sowing and germination
Echinocereus seeds are small, round, dark, ripen into fleshy fruits. It is impractical to soak such small seeds, so the substrate itself is disinfected: before sowing, it is spilled with a weak solution of potassium permanganate and dried. Scarification and stratification are not required. Sowing is carried out on the surface of a moistened mineral substrate with an acidity of pH 6.0-6.5, without embedding. The crops are moistened from a spray bottle with a solution of a seed-safe growth stimulant according to its label directions, seed-safe growth stimulant, seed-safe growth stimulant, seed-safe growth stimulant or seed-safe growth stimulant, covered with a lid or glass, or placed in a greenhouse and germinated at a temperature of 24-28°C with regular ventilation. Under favorable conditions, the first shoots appear within 7 days, the main germination is completed in 7-15 days, and individual seeds can linger for a very long time - from 4 to 12 weeks, and sometimes for several months.
