Sowing and germination

Argyroderma usually germinate without difficulty, but sometimes sowings fail. It is better not to sow all the available seeds at once, but to divide them into at least two parts - sow one portion and evaluate the germination energy after 15 days. If the seeds show good germination, sow a second portion using the same technology. If the shoots have not appeared, then the second portion can be kept dry for 25-30 days in the refrigerator at +5º, and before sowing, soak for 5-6 hours in a weak (light pink) solution of potassium permanganate KMnO4 (potassium permanganate). Sometimes just soaking in potassium permanganate is enough. Significantly increases the percentage of germination by soaking seeds for 4-5 hours in gibberellic acid GK3 - 1 g per 1 liter of distilled water. Treatment with gibberellin 'forces' light-sensitive Argyroderma seeds to germinate even in the dark.
