Sowing and germination
Gunnera seeds are small, light-sensitive, and quickly lose germination, so they are sown as fresh as possible. It is impractical to soak such small seeds, so the substrate itself is disinfected: before sowing, it is spilled with a weak solution of potassium permanganate and dried. Scarification and stratification are not required. Sowing is carried out superficially, without embedding: the seeds need light. A sterile, loose, moisture-absorbing substrate is used. The crops are moistened from a spray bottle with a solution of a growth stimulator: balanced plant vitamin supplement, natural plant growth stimulant, amino-acid plant fertilizer, anti-stress adaptogen solution or root development stimulant, covered with a transparent lid or placed in a greenhouse and germinated at a stable temperature of 22-25°C, preferably with lower heating.
