Sowing and germination
The seeds are large, about 10 mm long, oblong, light brown, equipped with a long silky tuft that helps spread by the wind. Before sowing, the seeds are soaked for 12 hours in warm water or a solution of a mild growth stimulant. Planting is carried out in a light substrate of peat and sand or leaf soil and perlite, the seeds are buried 5-8 mm with the tail up. The crops are placed in a greenhouse or covered with film and germinated in the light, but not the sun at a temperature of 24-28°C. Stable humidity is maintained and ventilation is carried out daily. Shoots appear on average after 15-25 days, the minimum period is about 10 days, the maximum possible is more than 40 days. The plant can also be propagated by semi-lignified cuttings, but rooting requires greenhouse conditions and high humidity.
