Sowing and germination

Melaleuca seeds are enclosed in dense, woody capsules held tightly on the stems. To extract the seeds, the capsules are placed in a coffee grinder and ground - the resulting powder with seeds is sown entirely. The seeds are small and light. Before sowing, it is recommended to treat with a smoke extract (soaking in a smoke solution overnight) - this significantly accelerates germination and increases germination. Stratification and scarification are not required. Sowing is done in autumn or early spring in a loose, well-drained substrate. The seeds need light for germination and are laid out on the surface of the substrate without being buried - if necessary, they are lightly sprinkled with sifted sand for fixation. The crops are moistened with a spray bottle and kept at a temperature of 18-22°C in partial shade.
