Sowing and germination
Orthophytum seeds are small, photosensitive. It is impractical to soak such small seeds, so the substrate itself is disinfected: before sowing, it is spilled with a weak solution of potassium permanganate and dried. Scarification and stratification are not required. Sowing is carried out superficially, without embedding: the seeds need light. A loose sterile substrate made of peat and sand is used. The crops are moistened from a spray bottle with a solution of a growth stimulator: SUPERthrive, HB-101, Aminozol, Epin or Zircon, covered with a transparent lid or placed in a greenhouse and germinated in bright diffused light and a temperature of 22-26°C. Shoots appear after 2-4 weeks, unevenly. The crops are ventilated daily and condensation is removed. Seedlings grow slowly, picking is carried out after the formation of a rosette of 2-3 cm.
