Sowing and germination

Seeds are planted in a wide and shallow container. They are embedded in the soil to a depth of 5 mm. Then the soil is irrigated with a spray bottle, covered with film and germinated at a temperature of 28-32°C. Subsequently, the film is lifted daily, monitoring the soil moisture and removing condensation. The container with seeds needs lower heating. From the moment of planting to the first shoots, about a month passes. Having noticed the sprouts, the shelter is removed. When the second true leaf is formed, it’s time to pick, placing the plants in separate cups with leafy soil and sand. Seedlings are grown at high air and soil humidity. The medinilla is transplanted into a permanent container, capacious and deep, by transferring it when 5-6 leaves appear.
