Sowing and germination

Seeds are sown in sand, moistened and germinated in a greenhouse (preferably heated) in bright light. When sowing is almost superficial, it is necessary to sprinkle the seeds with a thin layer of sand or planting mixture. Also for planting use a mixture: 1 part peat, 1 part sand, ½ part vermiculite. Seeds germinate in 3 to 6 weeks. Sometimes seeds need cooling to break dormancy. To do this, the following method is used: heat-cold: the container with seeds is first kept at t= +24+30°C for 3 weeks, then the container is transferred for 2-3 weeks to a cold place with a temperature of 0+7°C, then again t= +24+30°C. **By its nature, bamboo has a germination rate of 50%**.
