Sowing and germination

Beech seeds require a period of stratification. Aged for 3 months in a cold environment at a temperature of 4-5°C. At home, the seeds are placed in the refrigerator. In our store, seeds are stored in a cold environment; when purchasing, check the time of stratification. Before planting, the seeds are soaked for 24 hours, then sown to a depth of 2-3 cm and sprinkled with a layer of soil. They are moistened with a spray bottle, covered with film and germinated in the light at a temperature of 21-22°C. The seedlings need ventilation. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops. Within 2-3 months, 70-80% of the seeds germinate. Special notes: Propagation by cuttings is poor, rooting rate is about 10%.
