Sowing and germination

Stomatium seeds are small, brown or light brown. Sowing is carried out in spring or early summer, and in the presence of stable lighting and lower heat it is possible all year round. A sterile fine-grained mineral substrate is used from sifted coarse sand, fine perlite, vermiculite and a small proportion of poor leaf soil. The seeds are distributed over the surface and sprinkled with the thinnest layer of washed sand, about 1 mm, so that they do not wash off when moistened. The crops are moistened from a spray bottle with a weak solution of potassium permanganate or biofungicide, if necessary with the addition of a growth stimulator. The container is covered with a transparent lid or placed in a greenhouse. The temperature is maintained at 20-24°C at night and 24-28°C during the day; bright, diffuse lighting is required, without direct overheating.
