Sowing and germination
It is advisable to sow seeds before winter, since many species require stratification ranging from several weeks to several months. Not all saxifrages require a cold period for seed germination, but none are affected by it. Since the seeds are very small, they are almost not covered, only lightly sprinkled with sand. After transferring the crops to a warm room, the seeds germinate in 2-3 weeks. Seedlings dive after the development of true leaves. In June-July, they are planted in a permanent place, maintaining a distance of 10-30 cm, depending on the species, and for the winter they are covered with a 10 cm layer of leaves. In open ground they germinate in 4-6 weeks.
