Sowing and germination
Seeds germinate well without prior preparation and usually demonstrate high germination rates. A good layer of drainage is poured onto the bottom of the seed container. If desired, before planting, the seeds are soaked in a fungicide solution, then air-dried and sown superficially (slightly pressing) into a permeable, pre-sterilized substrate consisting of 1 part leaf soil and 3 parts sand (you can use a standard mixture for cacti with the addition of up to 50% coarse sand). The crops are moistened with a spray bottle, covered with film and germinated in the light, but not in direct sunlight at a daytime temperature of 21-25°C; at night it is recommended to reduce the indicators to 15-18ºC. The seedlings need ventilation. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops. Seeds germinate within 10–25 days after sowing, depending on temperature and humidity. The maximum germination period can be more than 40 days.
