Sowing and germination
The natural conditions for the germination of succulent pelargonium seeds are similar to the conditions of our autumn season, however, if the appropriate conditions are created, germination can be carried out year-round. An important condition is the daily temperature difference. A nighttime drop in temperature to 9°C stimulates germination well. Seeds have a strong genetic memory and can lie for a long time, waiting for a favorable period, so you should not get rid of the crops before that very favorable time. Seeds are sown superficially without being buried in a mixture of turf soil, high peat and sand in a ratio of 2:1:1, or in pure vermiculite, sprinkled with a thin layer of clean river sand or mixture, moistened with a spray bottle, covered with a film and germinated in the light, but not in the sun at a temperature of 20-25°C. The seedlings need ventilation. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops.
