Sowing and germination

To improve germination, the seed is pre-conditioned for 2.5–3 months in damp sand, at a temperature of about 5°C. When planted in the ground, the seeds are buried 1-2 cm, moistened with a spray bottle, covered with film and germinated in the light, but not in the sun at a temperature of 20-25°C. The seedlings need ventilation. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops. Shoots appear in 5-14 days. As soon as the first shoots hatch, the vitex is taken to a well-lit place. It is important to ensure that the soil is slightly moist. Seedlings grow quite slowly - the first transplant will be required no earlier than two months after emergence.
