Sowing and germination

Seeds are sown in highly permeable soil that is not oversaturated with organic matter. The container is covered with glass or a plastic cap and kept in a warm place at a temperature of 21-27°C for 1-2 weeks. As a result, most seeds either germinate or die. If the seed bursts without releasing the seedling, the tight shell is carefully removed with a needle. Seedlings are placed with their narrower, root side on the substrate so that they take root. Up to 1-1.5 years, seedlings develop slowly and are very vulnerable to diseases. Crops must be protected from excessive dampness and drying out. If they begin to die, carry out an urgent dive into a new container with fresh soil. Picking is carried out when the seedlings reach 3-5 millimeters in diameter. The old and new substrate must be moist: the gardener’s task is to transfer the seedling, along with a lump of soil hiding the roots, into a sufficiently deep soft hole.
