Sowing and germination
To increase germination, before planting, the seeds are placed in the refrigerator for 2 weeks, after which they are removed and dried for another 2 weeks. It is recommended to sow in sterilized soil, for which the soil is heated in the oven for a couple of minutes at a temperature of 60-80°C. Seeds are sown superficially in soil for cacti or in a moist substrate consisting of leafy soil of river sand and finely crushed charcoal in a ratio of 1:1:1. They are moistened with a spray bottle, covered with film and germinated in the light at a temperature of 20-26°C. The seedlings need ventilation. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops. Seeds germinate within 30-40 days after sowing, depending on temperature and humidity. Picking is carried out in pots with sterilized soil mixture.
