Sowing and germination

Seeds are sown superficially on a moistened mineral substrate with the addition of fine sand. The crops are covered with a transparent cap. Daily ventilation and temperature maintenance in the range of 22–26°C are required. Shoots appear in 7–20 days. In rare cases, germination takes up to 30–40 days. Picking is carried out after the first spines appear, while the seedlings are carefully transplanted into individual containers and kept in diffused lighting.
