Sowing and germination
Clematis seeds require dry or wet stratification. With dry stratification, the seeds are first kept for 2-3 months in a warm environment, then 2-3 months in a cold environment at a temperature of 4-5°C. At home, after a warm period, the seeds are placed in the refrigerator in late autumn or winter and planted in the spring. Before planting, the seeds are pre-soaked in warm water for 3-5 days, replacing the water every 8 hours and adding a growth stimulator according to the instructions. After the seeds are sufficiently soaked, they should be carefully removed from the outer shells without damaging them. Then the prepared seeds are sown in a loose sandy substrate to a depth of 2-3 seed sizes, sprinkled with river sand, compacted, moistened with a spray bottle, covered with film and germinated in the light, but not in the sun at a temperature of 25-30°C. The seedlings need ventilation.
