Sowing and germination

The seeds are flat, about 6-8 mm long, dark, thin, often with a light “papery” structure, located numerously in the capsule. During seed propagation, the varietal qualities of the bulbs are not preserved, but plant specimens obtained in this way age more slowly and grow faster. Before sowing, if desired, soak for 6-12 hours in warm water with the addition of stimulants (SUPERthrive, HB-101, Aminozol, Epin or Zircon), then the seeds are sown in a light, well-drained substrate with sand or perlite, covered with a layer of seed mixture of about 3-4 mm, moistened with a spray bottle, placed in a greenhouse or covered with film and germinated in the light, but not in the sun at a temperature of 18-22°C. To reduce the risk of rotting, seedlings need ventilation. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops; stagnation of water is not allowed.
