Sowing and germination

Seeds need a long period of stratification: kept for 3-4 months in a cold environment at a temperature of 4-5°C. At home, the seeds are placed in the refrigerator. Immediately before planting, soak in warm water or a seed-safe growth stimulant solution for 12 hours. A two-centimeter drainage layer is laid under the soil. Sowing is done in a loose, moist substrate to a depth of 0.5–1 cm. The container is covered with film or glass and ventilated daily. The germination temperature is maintained at 18–22°C. At best, only half of the seeds germinate. Shoots appear in 20–40 days. The minimum germination period is 20 days, the maximum can exceed 60 days. After the formation of 2 true leaves and reaching a height of 5-6 cm, the seedlings are planted in separate containers, trying not to bury the necks of the seedlings into the ground. Young plants are provided with good lighting without direct midday sun and regular moderate watering.
