Sowing and germination

Before sowing, seeds are soaked in water or a solution of a growth stimulant, after which they are laid out on damp moss or sown in a loose, fertile substrate (for example, a mixture of peat and sand or ready-made soil for aroids). The crops are lightly sprinkled with soil, moistened with a spray bottle and covered with film to maintain moisture. The containers are installed in a bright place without direct sun at a temperature of 21–25°C. Regular ventilation and monitoring are required to ensure that the substrate does not dry out or become waterlogged. Shoots usually appear after 30–45 days, the minimum germination period is about 30 days, and the maximum possible period can reach 2–3 months. At 5–8 months, characteristic dissected leaves begin to form, and by two years the plant forms a developed root system and up to 9 leaves.
