Sowing and germination

Some seeds germinate without stratification, however, it is recommended to stratify the seeds at 1-5°C (optimum +1°C) for 2-3 months in damp sand in the refrigerator. In March, surface sowing is done in a 1:1 mixture of sandy loam and peat, the seeds are moistened with a spray bottle, covered with film and germinated in the light, but not in the sun, at a temperature of 20-25°C. The seedlings need ventilation. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops, which ensures the survival rate of seedlings by more than 10%. It is important to choose a suitable place for the seedling: in the south there is a lowland with irrigation, but without stagnant water, in the north there is a place calm from the winter winds with good lighting. A hole is dug under the seedling 30 cm deeper and wider than the earthen clod.
