Sowing and germination
Seeds should be planted in seedling boxes in March or April. Before sowing, they are stratified (about 2 months) or processed in another way. Some agronomists recommend this method: first, the seeds are immersed in boiling water (100 °C) for 30 seconds, after which they are cooled in cold (about 0 °C) water for 20 minutes. Then they are left for 1 day in a damp bag at room temperature, and then germinated at a temperature of 20...30 °C. Seeds take a long time to germinate. To speed up the process, it is also recommended to carry out scarification after stratification - breaking the integrity of the hard shell of the seed (with emery). Planting depth is 3-5 cm.
