Sowing and germination

The seeds of virgin grapes are dense and round. For uniform germination they need cold, moist stratification. The seeds are mixed with a slightly moist sterile substrate or coarse sand, placed in a closed bag or container and kept in the refrigerator at a temperature of about 2-5°C for 2-3 months. After stratification, the seeds are sown in a sterile loose substrate with the addition of perlite, the seed is moistened from a spray bottle with water with the addition of a growth stimulator: SUPERthrive, HB-101, Aminozol, Epin or Zircon, and placed in a greenhouse. Germination is carried out in bright, diffused light and a temperature of about 20-22°C. The first seedlings with successful sowing can appear approximately 3-6 weeks after transfer to heat, the main germination often takes 4-8 weeks, and individual seeds can linger longer.
