Sowing and germination
The seeds of the dark purple euonymus are medium-sized, round, covered with a dense, fleshy, orange-red color - it is this that makes the open fruit-boxes so decorative. For successful germination, seeds need cold, moist stratification; without it, germination will be low. Seeds are stratified for 3 months at a temperature of 4-5°C - at home, the bottom shelf of the refrigerator is suitable. After stratification, the seeds are kept for 1-2 hours in a 1% solution of potassium permanganate, then soaked for 24 hours in warm water with the addition of a growth stimulator: balanced plant vitamin supplement, natural plant growth stimulant, amino-acid plant fertilizer, anti-stress adaptogen solution or root development stimulant, then sown superficially and sprinkled with a layer of substrate of about 1 cm. Moistened with a spray bottle, covered with film and germinate in the light at a temperature of 21-22°C.
