Sowing and germination

Rudbeckia seeds are medium-sized, tetrahedral, and remain viable for about three years. Before sowing, they are soaked for 6-12 hours in a weak solution of potassium permanganate or in a solution of a growth stimulator: balanced plant vitamin supplement, natural plant growth stimulant, amino-acid plant fertilizer, anti-stress adaptogen solution or root development stimulant. Scarification and stratification are not required. For flowering in June and July, seedlings are sown at the end of March or in April. The seeds are laid out on the surface of a damp substrate and sprinkled with a thin layer of soil, the crop is moistened with a spray bottle, covered with a transparent lid or placed in a greenhouse and germinated at a temperature of 16-18°C. Shoots appear in 2-3 weeks. The crops are ventilated daily and condensation is removed.
