Sowing and germination
Rhombophyllum seeds are very small, dark, ripen in dry capsules that open when exposed to moisture. It is impractical to soak such small seeds, so the substrate itself is disinfected: before sowing, it is spilled with a weak solution of potassium permanganate and dried. Scarification and stratification are not required. Sowing is carried out superficially, without embedding: the seeds need light. A sterile, fine-grained mineral substrate with a top layer of washed sand is used. The crops are moistened from a spray bottle with a solution of a growth stimulator: SUPERthrive, HB-101, Aminozol, Epin or Zircon, covered with a transparent lid or placed in a greenhouse and germinated in bright diffused light and a temperature of 18-24°C, without overheating in direct sun. Under favorable conditions, the first shoots appear within a week, the main germination is completed in 2-3 weeks, and individual seeds can linger for up to 4-6 weeks.
