Sowing and germination

Voakanga seeds are small, numerous, and lose germination quite quickly, so they are sown as fresh as possible. Before sowing, they are soaked for 12-24 hours in a weak solution of potassium permanganate or in a solution of a growth stimulator: SUPERthrive, HB-101, Aminozol, Epin or Zircon. Scarification and stratification are not required. Sowing is carried out in a sterile soil mixture to a depth of 8-10 mm. The crops are moistened with a spray bottle, covered with a transparent lid or placed in a greenhouse and germinated in a warm place, at a temperature of 25-30°C, preferably with bottom heating. Germination is long and uneven: seedlings can appear from several weeks to several months, so the crops are not thrown away ahead of time. The crops are ventilated more often, condensation is removed, and waterlogging is unacceptable. Seedlings are slightly shaded, picking is carried out after the second pair of true leaves unfolds.
