Sowing and germination

Pre-sowing treatment is not required. Seeds are sown superficially in a moistened cactus substrate with added sand, the container is covered with glass or film. Stable lighting and a temperature of about 22-26°C are provided, and ventilation is carried out daily. Shoots appear in 10-20 days. The maximum germination period can be more than 35 days. Picking is carried out after the first spines appear, when the seedlings reach 1-1.5 cm in diameter.
