Sowing and germination
Poppy seeds are very small, numerous, and ripen in poppy capsules. It is impractical to soak such small seeds, so the substrate itself is disinfected: before sowing, it is spilled with a weak solution of potassium permanganate and dried. Scarification is not required, and winter sowing replaces stratification. Seeds are sown in early spring, as soon as the snow melts, or before winter. Surface sowing, with minimal incorporation, is moistened from a spray bottle with a growth stimulator solution: balanced plant vitamin supplement, natural plant growth stimulant, amino-acid plant fertilizer, anti-stress adaptogen solution or root development stimulant and kept evenly moist. Germination takes 2-3 weeks. Seedlings dive with the appearance of 1-2 true leaves immediately to a permanent place, since the taproot does not tolerate transplantation well.
