Sowing and germination
Thyme seeds are very small, dark brown or almost black, round or ellipsoidal, similar to small nuts. Sowing is carried out in the spring or year-round in the presence of stable heat and lighting. A light, sterile seeding substrate is used based on sifted peat, leaf soil, fine perlite and a small amount of washed sand. The seeds are distributed over the surface, lightly pressed against the moist soil and not covered or sprinkled with a barely noticeable layer of sifted substrate or sand. The crops are moistened from a spray bottle with a weak solution of potassium permanganate or biofungicide, if necessary with the addition of a growth stimulator: SUPERthrive, HB-101, Aminozol, Epin or Zircon. The container is covered with a transparent lid or placed in a greenhouse. The temperature is maintained at 18-24°C; bright, diffuse lighting is required, without direct overheating.
