Pelargonium VITIFOLIUM

Sowing and germination

Seeds are sown superficially without deepening into a mixture of turf soil, high peat and sand in a ratio of 2:1:1, or into pure vermiculite, sprinkled with a thin layer of clean river sand or mixture, moistened with a spray bottle, covered with a film and germinated in the light, but not in the sun at a temperature of 20-25°C. The seedlings need ventilation. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops. Seeds of all types of Pelargonium are susceptible to fungal diseases, so for prevention, 5-10% crushed charcoal is added to the planting mixture, and the crops are moistened with a fungicide solution from a spray bottle. Seedlings are planted, having previously treated the root system with a fungicide and root formation stimulator, into separate containers when the bushes reach 12-25 cm in height.
