Sowing and germination

Seeds for seedlings are planted in March, for growing at home - all year round. Before sowing, planting material must be wrapped in a damp cloth and stored in the refrigerator for about a month. Seeds are sown in universal soil with the addition of peat, moistened with a spray bottle, covered with film and germinated in the light, but not in the sun, at a temperature of 23-30°C. The seedlings need ventilation. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops. Seedlings are planted in large pots after the appearance of the fifth leaf. The seedlings will need light and moderate watering with warm water. Pots need to be chosen large enough: the root system of codonopsis is quite massive even at the stage of growing seedlings. After the seedlings have developed sufficiently, they are transferred to a permanent place, replanting using the method of transshipment or transfer of a peat pot.
