Sowing and germination
The seeds are flat, about 6-8 mm long, dark, thin, often with a light “papery” structure, located numerously in the capsule. During seed propagation, the varietal qualities of the bulbs are not preserved, but plant specimens obtained in this way age more slowly and grow faster. Before sowing, if desired, soak for 6-12 hours in warm water with the addition of stimulants (balanced plant vitamin supplement, natural plant growth stimulant, amino-acid plant fertilizer, anti-stress adaptogen solution or root development stimulant), then the seeds are sown in a light, well-drained substrate with sand or perlite, covered with a layer of seed mixture of about 3-4 mm, moistened with a spray bottle, placed in a greenhouse or covered with film and germinated in the light, but not in the sun at a temperature of 18-22°C. To reduce the risk of rotting, seedlings need ventilation.
