Sowing and germination

Pre-sowing treatment is not required. Seeds are sown superficially in a moistened cactus substrate with added sand, the container is covered with glass or film. Stable lighting and a temperature of about 22–26°C are provided, and ventilation is carried out daily. Shoots appear in 10–20 days. The maximum germination period can be more than 35 days. Picking is carried out after the first spines appear, when the seedlings reach 1–1.5 cm in diameter.
