Sowing and germination
Seeds are sown in sand or planting mixture (1 part peat, 1 part sand, ½ part vermiculite) almost superficially and always sprinkled with a thin layer of soil, moistened with a spray bottle, covered with film and germinated in bright light, but not in direct sun at a temperature of 24-30 ° C. The seedlings need ventilation. It is necessary to avoid waterlogging and drying out of crops. Seeds germinate in 3 to 6 weeks. Sometimes seeds need cooling to break dormancy. For this, the 'heat-cold' method is used: the container with seeds is first kept at a temperature of 24-30°C for 3 weeks, then transferred for 2-3 weeks to a cold place with a temperature of 0-7°C, then again 24-30°C. Special Notes: By nature, bamboo has a germination rate of 50%.
