Sowing and germination

Before sowing, seeds are carefully scarified and soaked in warm water for 6–8 hours. Sowing is carried out in a loose, nutritious, well-drained substrate with the addition of inert disintegrants, with a slight depth (0.5–1 cm). The container is covered with film or glass, creating high humidity and bright lighting. For successful germination, a temperature of at least 28-30°C is required; at lower temperatures, seeds, as a rule, do not germinate. In summer, germination is carried out in the open sun, in winter - using lower heating and illumination with fluorescent lamps. Shoots appear after a few weeks, usually within 20–40 days, but the minimum germination period is about 20 days, and the maximum possible is several months. Regular ventilation and maintaining constant, but not excessive, humidity of the substrate are necessary.
