Sowing and germination
The seeds are medium-sized, about 6–8 mm long, dense, round, enclosed in flat winged fruits. Preliminary scarification is necessary (without disturbing the top layer, germination does not exceed 30–40%), for this, the outer shell is carefully sawed or scratched with a hard tool so as not to damage the seed. Before sowing, the seed material is soaked for 24 hours in warm water with the addition of stimulants (balanced plant vitamin supplement, natural plant growth stimulant, amino-acid plant fertilizer, anti-stress adaptogen solution or root development stimulant). Pre-treatment allows you to increase the overall percentage of germination to 60–80%. Sowing is done in a light, well-aerated substrate based on coconut fiber with the addition of inert raising agents (perlite, vermiculite, coarse sand). The seeds are laid out horizontally with the flat side down and buried 1–1.5 cm.
